This breakthrough follows the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association's decision to allow candidates to select 'Other' in the gender category during State Panel Umpire exams. Sri, born R. Muthuraj, has been officiating in the Salem and Coimbatore circuits since 2021. Her journey began while working at a call center in Mohali, where she developed an interest in umpiring after watching the Indian Premier League. With guidance from U. Jayaraman and support from senior umpires, she honed her skills.
