Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has directed health department officials to explore establishing an integrated Mother and Child Hospital at Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) in Shimla. During a meeting, he emphasized the need for a committee, headed by Secretary Ashish Singhmar, to identify appropriate space within the IGMC premises for the new unit. Sukhu also highlighted the government's initiative to achieve a zero waiting period for diagnostic services in medical colleges by installing advanced equipment and ensuring adequate staffing. He reaffirmed that the health and education sectors are top priorities for the state government, which is committed to providing better healthcare facilities and is not constrained by budget limitations. The CM's focus on upgrading diagnostic systems aims to enhance patient care and treatment outcomes in the state.
