A recent report by King, titled *Mobile Matters: The Impact of Mobile Games for Europe*, reveals that the mobile games sector is a critical growth driver for the European economy. In 2025, over 1,000 mobile games studios are projected to contribute nearly €6 billion to the economy and support more than 63,000 jobs. The report, conducted by Nordicity, also forecasts that the industry will generate €7.53 billion in revenue from global audiences, which is expected to rise to over €8 billion by 2028. Mobile games have become the most popular gaming format, accounting for 55% of global video game revenue, with over 300 million players in Europe. Todd Green, President of King, emphasized the sector's role in fostering creativity and technological innovation, urging for conditions that nurture talent and investment. The report also highlights the potential of mobile games to enhance digital skills and engage the public on social issues, reinforcing their value beyond mere entertainment.
