On April 16, two senior Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers faced alleged 'high-handed' treatment at Lok Bhavan in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The incident occurred while they accompanied Dr. D. Sudhakara Rao, the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, during a meeting with Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati. Despite prior coordination regarding their presence, the officers reported being forcibly removed from the premises by police, raising serious concerns about their treatment as civil servants on official duty. Dr. Rao expressed his dismay in a letter to the governor's secretariat, stating that such actions tarnish the dignity of their office and urged for an investigation into the conduct of the security staff involved. He also highlighted that false allegations regarding the officers' sobriety were proven baseless at the police station. As of late Thursday, there has been no official response from Lok Bhavan regarding the incident.
