India and China held a meeting in Beijing under the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC) to discuss the situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) described the talks as 'constructive' and 'forward-looking,' emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace and tranquillity in the border areas to facilitate the normalization of bilateral relations. Both sides reviewed recent progress and expressed satisfaction with the current state of affairs. Key topics included border management, delimitation, and cross-border cooperation. The meeting also laid the groundwork for the upcoming Special Representatives dialogue, with both countries committing to regular diplomatic and military exchanges. The Indian delegation was led by Sujit Ghosh, while the Chinese side was represented by Hou Yanqi. This meeting follows a series of diplomatic efforts to resolve tensions that escalated after the 2020 clashes in Galwan Valley.
