In a significant move to foster skilled migration between Karnataka, India, and Germany, five students from the Government Tool Room and Training Centre (GTTC) have been selected for vocational training with Rheinbahn AG, a prominent public transport operator in Düsseldorf. The training will commence in September 2026 under the German Ausbildung programme, which is renowned for its combination of classroom education and practical workplace training. This dual vocational training model leads to an internationally recognized qualification. The Letters of Intent were presented to the students by Sharan Prakash Patil, Karnataka's Minister for Skill Development and Medical Education, during a felicitation ceremony at Vikasa Soudha. Dr. Patil emphasized the talent and discipline of the youth, expressing the government's commitment to creating global opportunities for skilled individuals. Subodh Yadav, principal secretary to Skill Development, indicated that this initiative is just the beginning, with plans to scale the programme to benefit many more candidates from the state in the coming years, thereby enhancing Karnataka's role in the global skilled workforce.
