Chris Weidman, a former UFC middleweight champion, is set to be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame this summer. Weidman, 41, made headlines in July 2013 when he knocked out Anderson Silva at UFC 162 in Las Vegas, ending Silva's historic 16-fight win streak and 2,457-day title reign. Weidman went on to defeat Silva in a rematch at UFC 168, where Silva suffered a severe leg injury after Weidman checked a kick. Throughout his career, Weidman defended the middleweight title three times, successfully facing notable fighters like Lyoto Machida and Vitor Belfort. In a twist of fate, Weidman experienced a similar leg injury in a loss to Uriah Hall in 2021. He made a comeback but ultimately retired from mixed martial arts in 2024.
