In response, the state home department has issued a directive to various authorities, including the Director General of Police and district collectors, to strictly adhere to the guidelines set by the Ministry of Home Affairs. These guidelines aim to ensure that sensitive details, such as the schedules and security arrangements of protected dignitaries like the president and prime minister, are not disclosed to unauthorized individuals or the media. The directive emphasizes that information should only be shared with authorized stakeholders and through secure communication channels. Police are advised to implement well-defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for managing and transmitting sensitive information. Although there have been no recent breaches in Odisha, police officials remain vigilant and committed to maintaining security protocols for VVIPs, conducting regular training and sensitization for personnel involved in their protection.
