The Northern Kentucky Health Department has begun notifying parents of students at the school, estimating that several dozen families may have been exposed. Although the school is currently on summer break, which minimizes the risk of further spread, the health department is concerned about reaching all potentially affected families. Testing for those who may have been in contact with the patient will be conducted across three dates next week. Tuberculosis is an airborne illness primarily affecting the lungs, and its symptoms can include persistent coughing, chest pain, fever, and night sweats. The health department urges anyone who has been in contact with the school and begins to exhibit symptoms to reach out for assistance.
