On June 7, 2026, the IBA‐UIBC Cup of Bakers 2027 'Golden Statue Cup' China Selection competition took place at the International Culinary Institute in Hong Kong. This prestigious event gathered leading baking professionals, industry representatives, and government officials to celebrate innovation and talent in the baking sector. Lam Soon (Hong Kong) Limited, as the title sponsor, emphasized its commitment to fostering talent and facilitating international exchanges within the industry. The competition showcased exceptional skills from participants, reflecting the growing international competitiveness of China's baking industry. Notable attendees included Mr. Zhang Jiukui, Chairman of the China Association of Bakery & Confectionery Industry, and Mr. Kevin Choi, JP, Permanent Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau. The competition concluded with LAI, Lam Yam winning the Professional Category, while FUNG, Chui Shan took the top spot in the Student Category. The winners will advance to the China National Final in May 2027, with the overall champion representing China at the IBA World Final in Germany in October 2027.
