On Tuesday, the Students' Federation of India (SFI) organized a significant protest at the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Regional Office, demanding urgent rectification of issues related to the conduct of CBSE examinations. SFI State Secretary PS Sanjeev criticized the central authorities for jeopardizing students' futures due to administrative failures. Concurrently, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, led by Chairman Digvijaya Singh, announced its intention to review concerns regarding the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system after a presentation by class 12 student Sarthak Sidhant. Sidhant highlighted alleged discrepancies in the OSM tendering process, suggesting that changes favored a specific service provider. He urged for increased transparency in educational procurement and proposed broader pilot testing of the OSM system before full implementation. The committee is also assessing the three-language formula's implementation in Classes 9 and 10, with senior officials from the education sector expected to contribute to the discussions.
