Gooey, a bakery that has quickly become a favorite in Manchester, is set to open its largest café to date in the Circle Square development on Oxford Road on May 14. Founded by Jake Ansbro, Paddy Brown, and Sax Arshad during the pandemic in March 2020, Gooey gained fame for its New York-style cookies and viral French Toast. The new café aims to attract the student population with a menu that includes an Egg Sandwich and avocado toast, alongside its well-loved pastries. To celebrate the opening, Gooey will offer 100 free sandwiches, 100 free iced matchas, and 200 cookies on a first-come, first-served basis. General Manager Chelsea Scott noted the café's aim to maintain high-quality, freshly baked goods while introducing community events. With a growing reputation and celebrity endorsements, Gooey continues to thrive in Manchester's vibrant food scene.
