Esh-Tech Systems, an Israeli startup based in Omer, has introduced Dronelight, a cutting-edge laser defense system designed to counter drone threats, particularly from Hezbollah. Unlike traditional systems, Dronelight can intercept 30 drones per minute, utilizing a pulse laser that operates effectively at a range of up to one kilometer. This innovative approach allows for rapid response and operational flexibility on the battlefield, crucial for protecting ground forces and settlements. The system's low operational cost of approximately NIS 0.10 per minute and its ability to draw energy from various field sources enhance its practicality. Esh-Tech has received multiple grants from the Israel Innovation Authority, including a substantial one recently, and is recognized as a promising player in the defense tech sector. The company is currently expanding and plans to present its first operational system by September. Esh-Tech CEO Erez Riahi emphasizes that Dronelight aims to improve military readiness against drone threats.
