Clark County has approved a resolution to recognize the Formula One Las Vegas Grand Prix as an annual event through 2037, extending the previous resolution that was set to expire in 2022. The unanimous decision by the Board of Clark County Commissioners requires race officials to improve infrastructure and reduce the setup and teardown time for the event. Chairman Michael Naft emphasized the importance of clear parameters to ensure minimal disruption during the race preparations. Improvements expected from F1 include the installation of track lighting foundations and permanent traffic gates to enhance road flow. The Grand Prix is anticipated to have a significant economic impact, generating around $1 billion for the local community and providing numerous jobs. The race will take place annually the weekend before Thanksgiving on a 3.8-mile street circuit that includes public roads. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority is also working on extending its agreement with F1 to host the race beyond 2027. The first three events have been sellouts, with the next race scheduled for November 19-21, 2023.
