Salim Kumar, the acclaimed National Award-winning actor from Malayalam cinema, passed away at the age of 56 after being admitted to Amrita Hospital in Kochi. Kerala Chief Minister V D Satheesan expressed deep sorrow over Kumar's death, calling him a brother and a towering talent in the film industry. Kumar was recognized for his versatility, earning the National Film Award for Best Actor in 2010 for his performance in 'Adaminte Makan Abu', among other accolades. His career spanned over three decades, during which he appeared in more than 300 films, becoming a beloved figure known for his unique ability to blend humor with emotional depth. The Kerala government confirmed his passing and announced that his funeral will take place with official honors on June 7, allowing the public to pay their respects at Paravur Town Hall prior to the ceremony at his residence in North Paravur, Ernakulam.
