Uber Eats has officially launched a package return service, enabling customers to return unwanted items directly through the app. This feature, introduced on April 17, is a first for on-demand delivery platforms. Users can select items from their order history and request a return, which will be facilitated by a courier who picks up the item from their location. However, there is a return fee that varies based on the distance the courier must travel. Additionally, this service is only available for items priced at $20 or more and adheres to the store's return policy. Refunds will include the item price, taxes, and Uber Eats service fees, but will not cover previous delivery charges or tips. Currently, the service supports select retailers, including Petco, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Best Buy, with plans for expansion to more partners in the future. Uber Eats also offers a 'send items' feature, allowing users to send prepaid packages to shipping centers.
