The Indian government has significantly reduced the adjusted gross revenue (AGR) liabilities for Vodafone Idea, a struggling telecom operator, by about 27%, bringing the total dues down to ₹64,046 crore (approximately $7.7 billion USD). This adjustment follows a reassessment conducted by the Department of Telecom (DoT), which had initially set the AGR dues at ₹87,695 crore. According to a company filing, the DoT has communicated that a committee formed for this purpose finalized the dues as of December 31, 2025. Vodafone Idea is required to settle these dues in two phases over a period of ten years. The company will make a minimum payment of ₹100 crore annually for the first four years, from fiscal year 2031-32 to 2034-35, followed by six equal installments from fiscal year 2035-36 to 2040-41.
