On Sunday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M K Stalin unveiled the 'Chennai Super-6' initiatives at the Anna Arivalayam headquarters, outlining the party's vision for the upcoming Assembly elections on April 23, 2026. The initiatives aim to elevate Chennai into a world-class city through various projects. Key proposals include enhancing community spaces by upgrading facilities in Urban Habitat Development Board Apartments and providing RO water facilities. The DMK plans to introduce 1,000 new mini buses to improve connectivity and implement AI-powered traffic management to reduce congestion. The manifesto also promises the timely completion of 10 major infrastructure projects by 2027 and the expansion of Metro services by 2028. Additionally, the party aims to increase the number of veterinarians for dog population management and establish a global tech hub with an investment of ₹10,000 crore (approximately $1.2 billion USD) to create 20,000 high-value jobs. CM Stalin cautioned voters against supporting the NDA alliance, claiming it would impede Tamil Nadu's progress.
