A tempo traveller carrying a group of 13 tourists from Perinthalmanna, Kerala met with a fatal accident in Valparai, Tamil Nadu, resulting in the deaths of eight individuals, including seven women. The vehicle lost control at a steep curve on the hilly road and plunged into a gorge. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences, stating he was distressed by the mishap and prayed for the recovery of the injured. The injured, including the driver and four others, were rescued and taken to the Government Hospital in Pollachi for treatment. Kerala's Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and directed authorities to ensure the best possible treatment for the injured, promising assistance to the families of the deceased.
