On Sunday, Paresh Worlikar, a 44-year-old fisherman from Worli Koliwada, Mumbai, was stabbed near Worli Seaface after being threatened over his mother's petition in the Bombay High Court. His mother, Vidya Worlikar, alleges that the Macchimar Co-operative Society, led by Vijay Patil, has engaged in corrupt practices regarding compensation for the Coastal Road project, which threatens the fishing community's livelihood. Worlikar was attacked by Umesh Patil, who allegedly lunged at him with a knife, resulting in shoulder injuries for Worlikar.
