Gout Gout, an 18-year-old sprinter, claimed victory in the 100m at the Australian athletics junior championships held in Brisbane, finishing with a time of 10.21 seconds. Although he did not break the coveted 10-second barrier, Gout demonstrated his prowess by easing up 30 meters from the finish line, waving to the crowd as he crossed ahead of Zavier Peacock, who clocked 10.35 seconds. Earlier in the competition, Gout had qualified fastest through the heats with a time of 10.19 seconds. He is set to embark on his first senior athletics campaign, where he will compete against Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo at the Diamond League meet in Oslo this June. Recently, Gout also won the 200m at the national championships with a record time of 19.67 seconds, surpassing Usain Bolt's previous under-20 record. He will forgo the Commonwealth Games to concentrate on the 200m at the World Junior Championships in Oregon this August.
