Larsen and Toubro (L&T), an Indian multinational conglomerate, has pledged to invest ₹18,600 crore in Tamil Nadu, marking a significant investment since the new government took office. Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay presided over the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which outlines three major projects expected to generate 8,200 jobs. The largest investment of ₹15,000 crore will be directed towards expanding a data center in Kanchipuram, creating high-value jobs for 500 individuals. Additionally, L&T will invest ₹2,500 crore to establish an electronics components manufacturing unit in Coimbatore, providing employment for 2,000 people, and ₹1,100 crore for expanding offshore wind infrastructure in Tiruvallur, which will create 5,700 jobs. This investment aligns with Tamil Nadu's goal of transforming into a $1.5 trillion economy by 2036, enhancing its leadership in advanced manufacturing and digital infrastructure.
