On the anniversary of Operation Sindoor, India's armed forces detailed their strategic military success against Pakistan, which was executed in response to the April 2022 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives. Vice-Admiral AN Pramod stated that India effectively countered Pakistan's nuclear blackmail by striking at terrorist hubs using long-range precision weapons. The operation, conducted on May 7, 2022, involved airstrikes on nine terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, showcasing India's resolve to defend its sovereignty. Lieutenant-General Rajiv Ghai, who played a key role in the operation, emphasized that it was not an end but the beginning of India's ongoing fight against terrorism. The operation integrated land, air, and maritime capabilities, achieving total surprise and inflicting maximum damage. Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti noted that the Indian military acted in self-defense and achieved its objectives without collateral damage. He claimed that the operation resulted in significant losses for Pakistan, including over 100 terrorists killed and damage to 13 aircraft. Ghai advised Pakistan to focus on improving its military capabilities rather than narrative-building.
