The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) approved a total of 10,379 real estate projects in the financial year 2025-26, with nearly 5,494 of these located in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). The Pune region followed with 3,566 approved projects. During this period, MahaRERA also registered 4,204 new projects, approved corrections for 2,488 projects, and granted extensions to 3,687 projects. Notably, the authority improved its complaint disposal rate to 137% in 2025, resolving 6,045 complaints compared to 5,073 registered that year. This marked a significant improvement in the efficiency of complaint resolutions, with the overall disposal rate rising from 50% to 70% in its first seven years to a remarkable 137% in 2025. The data indicates a strong focus on addressing older pending cases, showcasing MahaRERA's commitment to enhancing homebuyer protections. Developers are required to obtain MahaRERA's approval for any project alterations or timeline extensions, emphasizing the authority's role in regulating real estate developments in Maharashtra.
