Authorities, including district supply officer Anjani Kumar Singh, have confirmed that petrol pumps have sufficient stocks, with 2,141 kilolitres of diesel and 1,575 kilolitres of petrol available. However, demand surged, particularly in rural areas where farmers require diesel for irrigation. On Thursday alone, 795.54 kilolitres of diesel and 383.58 kilolitres of petrol were sold. The Kheri Petroleum Traders Association's president, Abhishek Dixit, noted that the rush has caused disorder at some outlets, prompting the association to request police deployment to maintain order. In response, local authorities are ensuring that essential services, such as ambulances and government vehicles, receive priority fuel supplies.
