Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has taken a strong stance against the alleged corruption surrounding the Kaleshwaram irrigation project, asserting that his government will not tolerate wrongdoing and will ensure those responsible face justice. During a press conference, Reddy questioned the BJP's silence on the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry request made by the state government. He pointed out that Union Minister Kishan Reddy's call for the CBI to take over the Kaleshwaram case has gone unanswered. Reddy accused former BRS Minister Harish Rao of rushing to Delhi to seek protection from inquiry, urging him to disclose his meetings during the visit. The CM also mentioned the collapse of the Medigadda barrage in 2023, which he claims was concealed by the previous BRS government for political gain. He criticized the BRS for failing to provide adequate water supply despite significant expenditures on the Pranahita-Chevella project, which was intended to enhance irrigation in North Telangana. Reddy reiterated his government's commitment to repairing the Kaleshwaram project and ensuring water supply for both drinking and irrigation purposes.
