The gown features a sculptural mermaid silhouette, with a structured corset bodice, plunging halter neckline, and dramatic peplum detailing, all inspired by South Indian temple architecture. Sustainability was a core theme, with the outfit representing a blend of heritage preservation and contemporary design. Over 2,500 hours of meticulous hand embroidery, primarily by women artisans, was dedicated to the gown, highlighting the craftsmanship involved. She expressed that her choice of attire at Cannes is about representation, stating, 'Wearing something so deeply rooted in South Indian craftsmanship and heritage felt incredibly special.'
