South Korean President Lee Jae Myung will visit India from April 19-21, marking the first visit by a South Korean president in eight years. Accompanied by First Lady Kim Hea Kyung and a delegation of ministers and business leaders, Lee aims to enhance cooperation in various sectors including trade, shipbuilding, semiconductors, and emerging technologies. Discussions with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also cover regional and global issues. The visit is expected to bolster the special strategic partnership between the two nations and create new momentum for economic cooperation. Both countries aim to increase bilateral trade to $50 billion by 2030 through the Korea-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. Lee will also meet with President Droupadi Murmu and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar during his visit, emphasizing the shared aspirations of both countries to expand collaboration.
