Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced a comprehensive plan to expand public transport services across the state, emphasizing the need to reduce reliance on private vehicles to promote sustainable mobility. During a high-level meeting, he directed the Transport Department to create a revised route plan to ensure that no village in Haryana lacks bus connectivity within the next year. The initiative, part of the Haryana Vision-2047, also aims to enhance intra-city transport, with special services for industrial workers and improved connectivity to major urban facilities. Saini highlighted the importance of integrating technology into public transport, including real-time tracking systems and safety measures such as CCTV cameras and panic buttons in buses. Additionally, the government is prioritizing the procurement of electric buses and the establishment of charging infrastructure, with plans for 10 new electric bus stands. The Chief Minister also reviewed the Happy Card Scheme, vehicle management modernization, and measures against vehicular pollution, including stricter enforcement of Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificates. Overall, the initiative seeks to modernize Haryana's transport infrastructure and promote green mobility.
