Political parties in New Delhi are actively preparing for the SIR (Systematic Voter's Enrollment) exercise, which will commence on June 30. The exercise is designed to enhance voter registration and ensure accurate electoral rolls through door-to-door visits by booth level officers (BLOs). The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed over 12,600 booth level agents-2 (BLAs-2) to assist in verifying voter details and facilitating the enrollment process. These agents will receive refresher training to help voters fill out necessary forms and check their names on the electoral list.

Former Congress MLA Anil Bhardwaj has been appointed as the general secretary (organisation) for the Congress party in Delhi, marking a significant organizational change. Training camps for district presidents are underway, with notable attendance expected from Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has also appointed BLAs-2 and completed voter mapping to ensure a comprehensive approach to the SIR exercise. Regular meetings will be held between election authorities and political parties to ensure cooperation and adherence to legal procedures throughout the SIR process.
