The injury resulted in a broken tibia and fibula, and she is scheduled for surgery on April 23. Her mother, Missy Gilkerson, mentioned that Ella will require screws and plates for the repair, along with potential ligament repair, leading to a recovery time of approximately 12 weeks. Despite the setback, Ella has received overwhelming support from her teammates, who have rallied around her with gifts, food, and messages of encouragement.
