The Dayton Flyers have made significant strides in bolstering their roster for the 2026-27 season by signing Zaide Lowery, a 6-foot-5 junior guard from Marquette University. Lowery announced his commitment on Instagram on April 18, making him the fourth player to join the Flyers in just over 53 hours. Earlier that day, Tristian Ford, a 6-3 guard from Murray State, also committed to Dayton. This followed commitments from Travis Perry, a guard from Ole Miss, and Jalen Haynes, a forward from Cincinnati, both of whom joined on April 16. Lowery had a productive season at Marquette, averaging 8.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 11 games. He started the first nine games of the season before transitioning to a bench role. His departure from Marquette was described as a mutual decision between him and the coaching staff. Lowery previously played against Dayton, scoring 10 points in a close overtime loss in November 2025. With these recent additions, Dayton now has a total of 12 players on its roster, with the capacity to add three more scholarship athletes before the season begins.
