Nebius, an AI cloud company, is committing approximately £1.7 billion to expand its AI infrastructure in the UK, which includes deploying three new sites utilizing NVIDIA's advanced technology. This expansion will enhance the company's AI R&D capabilities at its London hub, aiming to reach a total capacity of 65 MW by 2027. The initiative aligns with the UK Government's AI Opportunities Action Plan, which seeks to bolster local AI development. UK AI Minister Kanishka Narayan highlighted the significance of this investment in providing essential infrastructure for British enterprises and public services to effectively implement AI solutions. Notable UK clients, such as Revolut, have already transitioned their AI operations to Nebius, leveraging its platform to enhance operational efficiency and reliability. Additionally, Prima Mente, a company focused on neurodegenerative diseases, is utilizing Nebius's infrastructure for its AI model training. Nebius is also actively hiring talent in the UK and partnering with universities to address the AI skills gap, further solidifying its commitment to the region.
