Sanjay Raut, a Member of Parliament from the Shiv Sena (UBT) party, has raised serious allegations against a group misappropriating flats designated for project-affected persons (PAP) in Mumbai. Raut claims that the group, operating under the name 'Hindu Sakal Samaj', has been using the letterhead of Mangal Prabhat Lodha, the skill development minister, to facilitate the diversion of these flats to ineligible individuals. He identified Virendra Pratap, also known as Babloo Singh, as the alleged mastermind behind this scheme, which reportedly involved pressuring officials from various government bodies such as the Slum Rehabilitation Authority and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation to include fake names on the beneficiary lists. Raut highlighted that individuals like Ajit Dhanaji Kadam, who does not exist, were registered for flats, while real beneficiaries were left out. The total value of the alleged fraud is estimated to exceed ₹100 crore (approximately $12 million USD). Raut has urged Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to take immediate action regarding these claims. When approached for comment, Minister Lodha declined to respond.
