Residents of Puducherry, India, are encouraged to participate in the Census of India 2027 through an online self-enumeration facility available from May 17 to May 31, 2026. This initiative, announced by D. Silambarasan, the Tahsildar-cum-Charge Officer for Puducherry (Urban), aims to gather personal data accurately and efficiently. The census will unfold in two phases: the first phase involves House Listing and Housing Census from June 1 to June 30, 2026, while the second phase will focus on Population Enumeration starting in February 2027. Puducherry has been organized into 434 House Listing Blocks for this purpose, and a dedicated team of 445 government officials has been appointed to facilitate the process. Residents can record their data via the online portal at https://se.census.gov.in, while officials will also conduct door-to-door enumeration during the house listing phase. An intensive training program for enumerators is set to conclude by May 22, 2026, ensuring they are well-prepared for the task ahead.
