On Saturday, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) held a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. This protest was sparked by the NEET 2026 paper leak and alleged irregularities in the Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) On-Screen Marking (OSM) system. Protesters chanted slogans such as "Dharmendra Pradhan Istifa do" and criticized the government's handling of educational assessments, with one slogan highlighting a perceived failure of the 'Make in India' initiative. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, who flew in from Boston to lead the demonstration, emphasized the party's constitutional backing for their demands. The protest was officially sanctioned by Delhi Police, allowing it to take place from 10 am to 5 pm. This demonstration reflects growing concerns over examination integrity, particularly as the NEET-UG 2026 has been rescheduled for June 21 due to previous disruptions. Additionally, the CBSE faces scrutiny over its Class XII results linked to flaws in its OSM portal. Student groups nationwide have echoed these concerns with their own protests, demanding accountability for the ongoing examination controversies.
