K.G. Arunraaj, the general secretary of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has called on the Governor of Tamil Nadu to act in accordance with the Constitution of India and invite his party to form the government, following their emergence as the single largest party in the recent Assembly elections. Arunraaj highlighted that the Supreme Court of India has made it clear that majority should be demonstrated on the floor of the House. He made these comments after submitting a letter to K.M. Khader Mohideen of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), requesting their support in forming the government. The IUML, part of the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance, won two seats in the elections. Arunraaj expressed confidence in TVK's position, stating that despite facing pressures before the elections, they secured their status as the largest party. He also voiced concerns about a potential conspiracy to obstruct TVK's governance efforts, suggesting that past pressures have not deterred their progress. Furthermore, he criticized the AIADMK for speculating about forming a government with the DMK, arguing that such actions would contradict the people's verdict in Tamil Nadu.
