In preparation for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a strategic initiative aimed at fortifying its grassroots presence, particularly at the booth level. This effort is spearheaded by Dharampal Singh, the party's state general secretary (organisation), who will hold region-wise meetings to engage with booth-level workers directly. The strategy is designed to address vulnerabilities exposed during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, focusing on assembly constituencies where the BJP underperformed. A senior party leader indicated that a detailed, district-wise list of booths requiring intensive attention will be compiled. To ensure operational readiness, the BJP has requested a comprehensive roster of booth workers from each district and mandated mandal pravasis to conduct thorough checks on activities at all levels. Singh highlighted the importance of booth-level organization, instructing every party worker to prioritize their efforts at this foundational level. Additionally, the BJP plans to restructure its state executive following a recent cabinet expansion, aiming to deploy a new team effectively for the upcoming elections.
