On April 23, 2023, the Election Commission of India introduced a new set of post-poll guidelines for the West Bengal assembly elections, emphasizing the importance of managing surveillance footage effectively. According to a senior official, SD cards from polling booth cameras must not be removed until the designated Data Collection and Receiving Centre, where they can only be accessed in the presence of the Assistant Returning Officer. Furthermore, all video footage captured during the polling process must be preserved systematically. Polling officials are prohibited from leaving their stations until all camera equipment has been fully dismounted and secured. Additionally, a trial run for webcasting the second phase of polling, scheduled for April 29, 2023, will begin on April 24, 2023, in three shifts. The counting of votes is set for May 4, 2023.
