Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced a budget of ₹57.80 crore for the renovation of 121 roads spanning 137 km in Attari, a constituency in Amritsar district, Punjab, India. This initiative aims to improve connectivity and stimulate economic activity in areas long neglected due to their proximity to the Pakistan border. Mann emphasized that the government is committed to investing in these strategic locations to enhance infrastructure and support local farmers. He noted that the Government of India has agreed to shift the fencing along the border to within 300 meters, allowing farmers to cultivate on previously restricted lands, benefiting those in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Fazilka, and Ferozepur. Furthermore, Mann criticized previous administrations for their failure to address the drug trade, asserting that the current Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is focused on reform and development. During the announcement, a group of farmers protested against wheat procurement delays, leading to a brief clash with police.
