Epic Group, a global apparel company headquartered in Hong Kong, has announced a $150 million investment to develop a technical textiles manufacturing facility in Khurda district, Odisha, India. This initiative follows the recent inauguration of its first Indian manufacturing unit, Trimetro Garments, which was established with a $100 million investment. The new facility will focus on high-value synthetic and performance fabrics, catering to the growing demand in global export markets. Epic Group Chairman Ranjan Mahtani emphasized that this move aligns with the company's strategy to enhance its vertically integrated business model by manufacturing textiles locally, thereby reducing lead times and improving quality control. The facility is set to diversify Epic's sourcing base from traditional cotton fabrics to premium synthetic textiles, including polyester and recycled fibres. The construction of the new unit is expected to commence in early 2027, contingent on the necessary approvals, with the goal of transforming Odisha into a fully integrated apparel-to-fabric production hub in eastern India. The Trimetro facility is designed to produce nearly 20 million garments annually and aims to achieve over 75% operational efficiency within the next 18 to 24 months.
