Leslie Helen Varley, a 57-year-old woman, was arrested at Walt Disney World’s Contemporary Resort following an altercation over seating arrangements at Steakhouse 71. The incident began when a large party, which Varley was part of, became upset upon learning they could not be seated together. Restaurant manager Jessica Lee Brunk attempted to address the situation, but Varley allegedly grabbed her by the shoulders and threw three glasses of water at another manager, John Kevin Ortiz. Varley then snatched Ortiz's Disney name tag before leaving the restaurant. Deputies reported that Varley admitted to throwing the glasses and taking the name tag, stating she wanted to photograph it due to her frustration. She was charged with two counts of battery, one count of robbery by sudden snatching, and one count of criminal mischief, with a total damage of less than $200. Varley received a trespass warning from the property.
