District magistrates are required to submit detailed reports by July 5, including information on the location, year of establishment, registration details, and the number of students and staff at each madrasa. The survey aims to create a comprehensive database to inform future planning and policy decisions in the madrasa education sector. Additionally, the government has mandated the singing of 'Vande Mataram' during morning assemblies in all educational institutions, including madrasas. Officials emphasized that the objective of the survey is administrative, to ensure that madrasas operate in accordance with existing regulations and to identify any gaps in compliance. Any irregularities found during the review will be investigated separately, although there are no plans to change the current academic framework or curriculum of the madrasas. This move is part of a broader set of educational policy initiatives introduced by the new BJP government in West Bengal.
