On Thursday, a technical fault in the Theur-Magarpatta 220 kV transmission line operated by the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL) caused widespread power disruptions in Pune, impacting areas such as Hadapsar, Mundhwa, Camp, and Wanowrie. The fault occurred around 1:20 PM, shortly after a scheduled maintenance shutdown by MSETCL and the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) from 7 AM to 12 noon. The fault resulted in load management of nearly 50 MW due to increased demand from rising temperatures. Additional outages were reported in areas connected to high-voltage substations in Kothrud and Parvati. MSEDCL officials confirmed that repairs on the transmission line were completed late at night, and power supply gradually resumed thereafter.
