After suffering a hamstring injury during a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 12, where he had to leave the field after scoring 19 runs, Rohit has been sidelined for nearly three weeks. He is expected to open the batting alongside Ryan Rickelton. Stand-in captain Suryakumar Yadav confirmed Rohit's return, stating, "Corbin Bosch comes in for Trent Boult and also our very own Rohit Sharma is back." However, MI will miss their regular captain Hardik Pandya, who is unwell. Rohit had been working hard to recover, participating in light warm-ups and batting practice ahead of the match. MI hopes to improve their performance after a recent defeat, where they lost to RCB by 18 runs.
