The Israel Defense Forces' (IDF) Home Front Command has developed a new early warning system aimed at alerting residents of potential rocket and drone attacks from Hezbollah in Lebanon. According to N12 News, the system will provide varying preparation times depending on the geographic area targeted, with implementation expected within a few days. Home Front Command Chief Maj.-Gen. Shay Klepper has expressed the importance of extending warning times, stating, "If we can provide more time, we will." This initiative follows the extension of siren times for northern Israeli communities, allowing residents to prepare more effectively during emergencies. The updated system will also enhance mobile phone and smart TV applications, introducing a color-coded alert system that categorizes threats into Red, Yellow, and Green alerts, along with clearer instructions for residents. These improvements are part of a broader strategy to bolster security amid intensified IDF operations in southern Lebanon, particularly during Operation Roaring Lion.
