A 75-year-old woman, Sudharmma, died from a suspected snakebite in Pulimath, Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala, on April 20. This incident marks the second snakebite fatality in the state within two days, following the death of eight-year-old Aljo in Thrissur district. Sudharmma was bitten near her well at around 6:15 am and was rushed to a nearby hospital before being transferred to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital, where she died at approximately 7:15 am.
