Former Indian fast bowlers Lakshmipathy Balaji and VRV Singh are reportedly set to join the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) Centre of Excellence (CoE) in coaching roles after the conclusion of IPL 2026. The CoE has been lacking a full-time fast bowling coach since Troy Cooley retired late last year. The BCCI had considered hiring a foreign expert, engaging in discussions with Steffan Jones, the England fast bowling coach, although the outcome remains uncertain. Alongside Balaji and Singh, P. Krishnakumar, who played a pivotal role in Jammu and Kashmir's first Ranji Trophy title, is also being considered for a fast bowling coach position. Additionally, Yere Goud, a former Karnataka all-rounder, is likely to join as a batting coach. The BCCI is also evaluating candidates for fielding coach roles, including Dishant Yagnik, currently with Kolkata Knight Riders, and others like Milap Mewada and Shabarish Mohan. The finalization of candidates for other roles, such as performance analyst and head of sports science, is still pending.
