Shares of seafood exporters rallied on Friday, with Apex Frozen Foods gaining over 11%, Avanti Feeds rising more than 6%, and Coastal Corporation advancing over 5%. This surge comes as marine exports demonstrated resilience, with shipments in March 2026 reaching $680.31 million, a 0.76% year-on-year increase. For the fiscal year from April 2025 to March 2026, total seafood exports grew by 13.86% to $8.43 billion. This growth is largely attributed to strong demand for shrimp products. Over the past 11 years, the annual growth rate of marine product exports has averaged about 7%, with the export value more than doubling from ₹30,213 crore in 2013-14 to ₹62,408 crore in 2024-25. Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh has highlighted the strong export performance despite global uncertainties and urged exporters to aim for a target of ₹1 lakh crore in exports while adopting an open-market approach with support from various government ministries. The United States remains the largest market for Indian seafood, accounting for 36.42% of exports in 2024-25.
