East Bengal FC continued their impressive performance in the Indian Women’s League with a 2-1 victory over Gokulam Kerala FC in Kolkata on May 3. The match saw Fazila Ikwaput score both goals for East Bengal, with the first coming in the sixth minute through a well-placed volley. Ikwaput struck again in the 65th minute, assisted by Resty Nanziri, to double the lead. Gokulam Kerala responded in the 70th minute when Shubhangi Singh capitalized on a mistake by East Bengal's goalkeeper Elangbam Chanu. Despite late attempts from both teams, East Bengal held on to secure the win, maintaining their position at the top of the league with 27 points. Gokulam Kerala sits fifth with 10 points. In other matches, SETHU FC defeated Sribhumi FC 2-1, and Kickstart FC triumphed over SESA Football Academy.
